Frequently Asked Questions

CBD Hemp

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the major chemical compounds found naturally in the industrial hemp plant. CBD is not psychoactive and does not cause a “stoned” feeling. CBD is considered to have a number of potentially useful health and wellness applications.

CBD Hemp, CBD Rich Hemp, and Medicinal Hemp are specific terms used when referring to strains of hemp whose primary cannabinoid is CBD. While other cannabinoids are present, certain hemp strains are “rich” or “dominant” in CBD. CBD hemp is used in pharmaceuticals, supplements, cosmetics, animal products, foods, and also for research. As the benefits of cannabinoids become more widely accepted, it is expected that industrial hemp farmers will cultivate strains rich in other cannabinoids as well.

Full Spectrum CBD Hemp is a term we use to convey that our products contain the full complement of cannabinoids, terpenes, and phytochemical compounds that occur naturally in the CBD hemp flower. Terms such as “whole plant” and “whole flower” are also used interchangeably with “full spectrum.”

Studies have shown that flower extract containing all of the natural phytochemicals is stronger and more effective than any of the compounds when isolated and given alone. There seems to be a synergistic effect when taking the full complement of natural cannabinoids. They simply work better together. In cannabinoid science, this effect is called the “Entourage Effect.”

The FDA does not allow supplement companies to discuss how their products may benefit patients regarding the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, or cure of specific conditions. However, please note that the United States Department of Health and Human Services has listed as benefits of cannabinoids in their patent #6630507 granted in 2003.

No, you can’t get high from taking CBD hemp products. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid and doesn’t produce the intoxicating feeling like its sister cannabinoid, THC.

By law, industrial hemp products must contain 0.3% THC or less, which is much less than is required to cause intoxication. Windy Hill Hemp products contain the full spectrum of cannabinoids but the amount of THC is 0.3% or less and is compliant with the law.

Yes, it is possible to test positive on a drug screen from using full spectrum, whole plant hemp derived products. While these products are ultra low in THC and do comply with the law, drug screens are quite sensitive and may result in a positive test for THC.

By law, industrial hemp products must contain 0.3% THC or less. Windy Hill Hemp products contain the full spectrum of cannabinoids but the amount of THC is 0.3% or less and is compliant with the law.

If you are required to take drug screens, it is not recommended that you use Windy Hill Hemp products or any full spectrum whole plant hemp derived products. Always look for a CBD product that is THC free. Windy Hill Hemp is not responsible for drug screen results.
